I was just reading the TechCrunch app on my iPAD (also posted on TechCrunch.com), and a headline posted one hour ago (about 2:15 PM MST) reads 'Huge Security flaw lets anyone log into High Sierra Mac' '.On Macs running the latest version of High Sierra - 10.13.1 - it appears that anyone can log in just by putting 'root' in the user name field.Apple will probably fix it probably within hours but holy moly. Do not leave your Mac unattended until this is resolved'. So, apparently, High Sierra is a work in progress in more than one way. Regarding the security flaw, and quoting from the Washington Post: 'Apple said in the statement. “When our security engineers became aware of the issue Tuesday afternoon, we immediately began working on an update that closes the security hole. This morning, as of 8 a.m., the update is available for download, and starting later today it will be automatically installed on all systems running the latest version (10.13.1) of macOS High Sierra.” It would be nice if the Photoshop, Lightroom, and NIK problems get fixed as quickly.

From what I had read in advance of High Sierra's general release, that a number of Photoshop Plug-ins and specifically the Nik Collection as abandoned by Google were not 64-Bit compliant apps and would no longer work under High Sierra which has moved to not only a replacement for Apples legacy HFS File storage scheme, but also a move to all 64-Bit Apps. Now that DxO has acquired the NiK Collection I am not sure if they have upgraded NiK to 6t4-Bit compliance or not. I posed that question to Nik upon their reacquisition of NiK and got a generic support request reply. Why have you upgraded to High Sierra you might ask your self first before wondering why legacy apps no longer work. Im never in any hurry to do a major upgrade that upsets a workflow that's reliant on Apps that have yet or may never be upgraded to work under the new OS offerings. Whats the Hurry?
I’ve had this same problem. Downloaded the JAVA script as prompted and still no avail. Ive installed a trial of photoshop CS6 and still have the same problem. When i open the photoshop application nothing appears other than the menu selections at the top i.e. File, edit etc. None of the photoshop features/tools show on the screen.
Thank you for purchasing an Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 product! Installation is quick and easy. If you purchased a retail licensed CS5.5 product and no longer have the installation media, you can download replacement installers from this page.
When i open the drop down menus to try an open a file it doesn’t let me click on anything. Its only Photoshop I’m having an issue with all other apps are fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have this same issue.
I have Yosemite installed on one of my IMac’s, running Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.6. I do have the whitewindow workaround plugin installed. No short cut commands work periodically (sometimes do, but usually don’t), and I’m forced to use the toolbox to switch tools.
Very frustrating. I find issues with short cut commands for actions and scripts also, not just tools. I did reset and issues still continue. I do use a Wacom Intuos, updated all drivers there.
Any info on getting to work better is appreciated. At this point I’m strongly urging all others I know to hold off on updating, and will be reverting to my other computer until this is solved. Have a new problem with Photoshop and I wonder if you could help resolve it as I am still using CS5. Just upgraded my iMac 27 to OS to Yosemite version 10.10. Then working in Lightroom 4.4 I tried to send a photo to Photoshop CS5 for further processing.
Message came back saying I needed to download and install Jave ForOSX2014.001.dmg. Then tried again LR to CS5 and got very helpful message. “An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit “ Quit Tried opening CS5 directlysame result. Tried opening iPhoto (OK) and sent an image to CS5 from there (used to be automatic by clicking edit) with the same result. As I use CS5 all the time I’m a bit up the creek.
